While on the subject of men and their clubs, does the name Fred Abdee mean anything to you? Fred has been around the haulage scene for some time now. He has also been around the Transport Managers' Club almost as long.
Until recently he had held every office in the club except one—that of London president —but now he has replaced Dick Lyon in that office. Dick went off to live in the Wirral this year. I believe president is an office that can be held for an indefinite period; it looks as though Fred Abdee has settled down at last.
