• Clwyd County Council has accepted tenders for 92 contracts to provide nonprofit making bus services from October 26.
These contracts are intended to fill the gaps left when bus operators registered those services they thought they could operate commercially.
The sub-committee has accepted a package aimed at maintaining service levels close to those existing at December 31.'1985. In addi tion, a number of services which cross Clwyd's boundaries are being tendered by adjacent counties.
The County Council received 262 bids for the local bus service contracts on offer, and 75% of these contracts were contested. The package of 92 bus service contracts agreed to date will cost ,41.4 million in a full year, including i!1/2 million on services for statutory school transport. The cost to the County Council will be i,'900,000,
