THE Minister of Transport is con
sidering a suggestion that county highway authorities should be empowered to provide three new traffic signs. One would warn of a slippery surface, another the existence of a black spot, and the third that a road turned sharply to left or right 'after a long straight stretch.
The suggestion has been made by the County Councils' Association in response to the Minister's proposal to permit road-junction, crossroad and bend signs to be doubled in size, and " halt " and " slow " signs to be increased in size by a half.
