IN SCOTLAND, the two final sections of the M9 were opened last week and a decision was made on the route of the A9 Perth western by-pass.
The opening of the two new sections of motorway — the M9 from Longdyke to Pirnhall and the M876 from North Broomage to Bowtrees — completes the £23m motorway network in the Central Region.
Secretary of state for Scotland George Younger has decided that the western by-pass of Perth between Broxden and Crieff Road should follow the line proposed in 1974.
