MORE THAN 30 drivers lost their jobs last week when Goole, East Yorks-based container firm Alec Fetch Transport was wound up.
A spokesman says the firm went into voluntary liquidation on 17 February, leaving 33 drivers without a job or redundancy pay.
The family-run company had been in business for 40 years, most recently focusing on container work out of Goole. The spokesman adds: "There's no money in container work or any type of haulage at the moment."
Alec Petch ran 25 vehicles. Directors are Norman, Roger, John and Alec Fetch.
Its last set of accounts, for the year ending 28 February 2005, showed assets of just over £30,000.
