• A Forecast of the Goods and Passenger Vehicles to be Exhibited at Kelvin Hall, Glasgow'. Several Makes and Models will Make Their First Public Appearance.
The exhibition of motor vehicles which opens at Kelvin Hail, Glasgow, next Friday, January 26th, and closes on February 3rd, 19 of particular importance in view of the fact that no large exhibiticin of commercial vehicles using petrol as fuel was held in London last, year, and it is only by a visit to Glasgow that potential buyers and others interested can actually make comparisons between the 8iffe...ent types and classes of vehicles.

Probably the most interesting exhibit to be shown by this company will be the new 24 h.p. chassis designed particu:ally for coach and bus work. This has a four-speed gearbox and well-balanced springing, and, as a coach to seat 14 passengers and fitted with pneumatic tyres, it will give a maximum speed of 25 m.p.h.
The actual vehicle exhibited is a bus of the single-deck type to seat 20 passengers and fitted -with solid tyres:" rf pneumatic tyres are provided the speed under normal conditions is about 20 in p.h. The other exhibits comprise a 20 h.p. 30-ewt chassis, a similar chassis .carrying a box-van body, and a 32 h.p. 4-ton lorry.
Beardmore Motors, Ltd. Stand No. 144.
Two of the well-known Beardmore taxicabs will be exhibited by their
makers. One is the provincial-typo landaulet ; the other is the standard type. Both utilize the same chassis. This has an E.A.C. rating of 15.9 h.p., four-speed eearbox, cono clutch, and bevel final drive.
In addition no these vehicles, there will be a 20-3D-cwt. Beardmore chassis ivith 80 mm. bore by 120 mm. stroke four-cylinder, engine, four-speed gearbox, cone cluteh, bevel drive, and Michelin disc wheels with pneumatic tyres.
Bryson Bros. (Motors), Ltd. Stand No. 140.
A most comprehensive selection of will be found 'here. Amongst them will be the new model Vulcan for 20-25-cwt. loads, This has an engine of 15.9 h,p., worrn. final drive, and is equipped with pneumatic tyres. There will also be tyvo 4-ton lorries, both of the platform type, one a .1-type Thornycroft of 40 h.p., and the other a 36-40 h.p. Leyland with towing fixtures. The rernaining exhibit will be a handsome 39-40-cwt. De Dion-Bouton. van.
David Carlaw and Sons, Ltd. Stand No. 142.
This stand be occupied by three
examples of the G.M.C. chassis, all of the K.16 type. Two will be fitted with bakers' vanbodies to carry 30 cwt., weilst. the remaining one will have a bus body, a, special featureof which -is a 4,..ery ingenious patent sliding riar.4.
F. D. Cowieson and CO. Stand No. 167.
If this company show all the vehicles Which it is their present intention to do, this will be one of the best-filled stands in the Show. The exhibits will comprise three different makes. • •The first will be two Tilling-Stevens petrol-electric chassis, one bare and the other equipped with a Cowieson saloon bus body adaptable for one-man operation. Next will be the two 18 h.p. Guy chassis. In this case, also, one will be hare whilst the other will carry a Cowieson 14-seater coach body.
Last, but not least, will be two 22.4 h.p. Renault chassis of the standard type, one being fitted with the company's St. Andrew's ambulance body.

It is probable that this exhibitor will stage three vehicles. The first will be
a Cottin and Desgouttes 2-ton chassis on pneumatic tyres. This has a fourcylinder monobloc engine of 90 mm. bore and 160 mm. stroke, with a special reserve oil tank in the crankcase, Ferodo-faced cone clutch, four-speed gearbox, and double-reduction rear axle.
This chassis is supplied with two finalskive gear ratios, 6 to 1 or 4Lto 1. .A similar chassis will be shown with an 18-seater coach body made by the exhibitor, -whilst a third exhibit will be a
20-seater bus, also on a similar chassis. This lans is of the one-man-operated front-entrance type.

Stand No. 165.
Only one exhibit will be shown IV this company., but the stand will be well
worth visiting. It is "a G3 type 5-ton chassis with a four-cylinder engine of 115 mm. bore and 160 mm. stroke, and embodying the usual Berne features of leather -cone clutch, four-speed gearbox, long torque tube with the front end housed in a substantial cross-member, and a dual-type rear axle with a vertical banjo-type load-carrying member, intermediate bevel gear, and final drive by spur gears meshing with internally toothed rings in the rear wheels.
General Motors (Glasgow), Ltd.
Stand No. 129.
The Commer Cars, for which this company are the Scottish agents, will include a new-type chassis for goodscarrying, known as the 3G, and a 25 h.p. four-cylinder 2G-type chassis suitable for 2-2i-tott loads or for use with a 20seater coach body. It was hoped that a bus would also he on the stand, but it has proved impossible to arrange this. The new 3G chassis is a modification of the 3P type, and is designed expressly for the carrying of goods. Unlike the 3P-type machine, it has a one-piece propeller shaft and no torque tube. A detailed description of the vehicle will be found elsewhere in this journal.

Stand No. 127.
Of particular interest on this stand will be the 30-cwt. Lath, type B chassis,
to be shown in Great Britain for tho first, time. -This chassis has the advantage of a very low loading line, which is permitted by the use of a dropped frame.. The top of the chassis frame at the rear is approximately level with the hub caps, the final drive gearing being carried on a cross-member, and the drive to the wheels being effected through short car dan shafts.
Another oehibit will be a 15-cwt. Beeliet van with a 90 mm bore and 130 mm. stroke engine, multiple-disc clutch, threespeed gearbox, and helical bevel drive. Delahaye vehicles will be represented by a 15-cwt. traveller's brougham, a 20-cwt van, and a 2-ton baker's van on pneumatic tyres.
Guy Motors, Ltd.
Stand No. 168. •
Here will be found three fine exhibits, comprising a 2i-ton polished chassis, a 14-seater one-man bus on a 30-cwt. chassis, and a 25-cwt. mechanical endtipping wagon. The stripped chassis has an engine of 102 mm. bare and 140 mm. stroke, a four-speed gearbox, leather cane clutch, and double-reduction rear axle.
The 30-cwt. has an engine of 88 urnsbore and 114 ram. stroke, four-speed gearbox, single-plate clutch, warm final drive, and Michelin disc wheels, whilst the smallest vehicle has the same engine_ as the 30-cwt. Model, but a three-speed gearbox with central change.
Halley's Industrial Motors, Ltd.
Stand No. 145
The Halley exhibits will form a very
representative group. They will include three vehicles and a 450-gallon
turbine fire-engine of 7'8-100 h.p. Of the vehicles, one will be fitted with an. ordinary lorry body, and is of the 35 lap. six-cylinder type with worm final drive and foot brake on the tail end of the worm shaft.
The second will be a 2-ton 25 h.p. fourcylinder type carrying -a bread-van body. This vehicle has a four-speed gearbox.
Finally, there will be a new overtype 2k-ton. vehicle with an all-steel tipping body with hand-operated gear. This chassis has a 25 lap. engine.
Leyland Motors, Ltd.
Stand No. 148.
No big show would be complete without its quota of Leyland machines, and this year the company will stage four models, comprising a de luxe 22-seater motor coach on the 2-ton Al chassis, a 2-ton lorry with platform and cab, a 1,000-gallon tank wagon on the G-type 4-ton chassis and, finally, a single-deck bus to seat 40 passengers. Bryson Bros. (Motors), Ltd., will also show a 4-ton chassis.
The bus is a very interesting type, which became popular on its first appearance before the public a, few months ago. A prominent feature of this vehicle is that the -driver is positioned alongside the engine, thus allowing more body space without unduly extending the chassis. Exit and entrance doors are provided, as well as a door to the driver's compartment, all being on the near side.
L.V.L. Motors.
Stand No. .128.
A newcomer to the Scottish Show, and a vehicle which has not previously been exhibited, is the L.V.L. 25-30-cwt. chassis, which will be represented by two examples--sI4-16-seater open coach and a 25-30-cwt. end-tipping wagon. The L.V.L. chassis has a 20 h.p. four cjlinder engine, four-speed • gearbox, worm-driven rear axle, and steel disc wheels. A full description of this chassis was published in this journal a few weeks ago.
Macharg, Rennie and Lindsay, Ltd.
Stand No. 164.
Commercial travellers will be partici' larly interested in this stand, as on it they will find an Overland 19.2h.p. traveller's brougham. The chassis of this has a four-cylinder power unit, single-plate clutch running in oil, threespeed gearbox with central change, and electric lighting and starting. A similar chassis will be shown equipped as a 10-cwt. van.
Also of interest will be a 35 h.p, Lancia, equipped as an 1B-seater coach. This vehicle has a four-cvlinder monobloe engine, dry multiple-disc clutch, four-speed gearbox, and bevel gear final drive, whilstits wheels are of the Michelin type equipped with pneumatic tyree.
Mackay and Jardine, Ltd.
Stand No. 152,
This • company, the well-known manufacturers of Clyde commercial chassis, will st-age three examples of the 30-cwt. 2.5 h.p. type, one as a bare chassis, the second as a rear-entrance bus to seat 14 passengers and with twin N.A.P. tyres at the rear and Michelin cable tyres at the front, whilst the third will he a front-entrance bus, also for 14 passengers, and with Lucas 12-volt lighting set.
Perk Motor Co., Ltd.
Stand No, 149.
On this stand will be found a very 7 handsome 36-seater single-deck -rearentrance bus finished in natural wood and mounted on the A.E.C. model 403 chassis. This vehicle is equipped with Dunlop super-resilient tyres.
In addition to this there will be an A.E.C. type 5 ichassis with four-speed gearbox and worm-driven rear axle, carrying a three-way hydraulic tipping body.
The third vehicle will be a float lorry -mounted on a45 h.p.Tylormigined
,E.O. chassis. Visitors will also be in[crested in the new A.E.C. model 5 engine.
Rennie Motors, Ltd.
Stand N. 141.
Fire-fighting equipment will occupy the space ak the disposal of this company. -840
It will take the form of a Dennis 40-45 h.p. light type 300-350-gallon turbine motor fire-engine and a 200-250-gallon turbine hand or trailer-drawn pump.
The larger model has a four-cylinder engine of 115 mm. bore and 150 mm. stroke, four-speed gearbox and overhead worm drive. The pump is a multistage centrifugal type with an exhauster consisting of two single-acting air pumps, and the body is built to carry 1,200 ft, of delivery hose. The trailer engine is of a type which is rapidly becoming popular. It has a powerful four-cylinder engine and multi stage turbine t.2,pe pump, which was described by us in detail a short time ago.
James Ross and Sons.
Stand No. 143.
Three Karrier vehicles. will be found on this stand. The largest will be a 4-5-toss K type with a 59 h.p. engine, four-speed gearbox, double-reduction rear axle and cast-steel wheels. Next will he a 2-21-ton ,H t3pe vehicle with a 30 h.p. engine, four-speed gearbox, overhead" worm drive and steel disc wheels.
Passenger vehicles will be represented by a, 16-seater C type mounted on a 30-cwt. chassis. This chassis, unlike the ethers, has a three-speed gearbox, but has worm drive and pressed-steel disc wheels.
South-Western Coach Works, Ltd.
Stand No. 130.
This company are the Scottish agents for Fiat vehicles, of which they will stsge five examples, ra.nging from 10-cwt. to 3I-ton capacity. The smallest chassis carries a delivery-van body built by the exhibitors. Next. will be a 1-ton chassis carrying a 14-seater body upholstered with antique leather and painted maroon. A similar chassis will be shown as a standard delivery van. There will also be a W-cwt, bare chassis, and the last exhibit will be e 3-ton bare chassis.
Taggart's (Glasgow), Ltd.
Stand No. 151.
Apparently the Unic exhibits on this . etand.will be shown jointly by the above company and Ross and Christie, Ltd. They will consist of a 30-cwt. bare chassis of 13-24 h.p. with cone clutch, four-speed gearbox and aspecial reinforced-type back axle fitted with helical bevel drive.
Two similar chassis will also be shown, one carrying a 14-seater coach body and the other a special van body.
John 1. Thornycroft and Co., Ltd.
Stand No. 147.
The four exhibits staged by the Glasgow depot of this company willcertainly prove most interesting. -Thev will con.siee of current model of the well-known J and B.T. types, and also a J type 40 h.p. long wheelbase chassis for passenger service and suitable for carrying a 4-seater bus body. This vehici has forward control, so that full use is made of the loading space behind the engine.
The other 3 type has a platform lorry to carry 4 tons, and is similar to thcsse supplied for war service. One of the 2-ton B.T. types in a box van, whilst the other carries a coach body to seat 20. passengers. This model has a long wheelbase and is equipped with pneumatic tyres. It is important to note that it comes within tins limitations .imposed upon passenger-carrying vehicles in many Parts of Scotland.

Three complete vehicles will comprise the exhibits staged by this company, although their-new 20-25-cwt, model will be shown by Bryson Bros. (Motors), Ltd., on-Stand No. 140.
One of the examples will be a 30-cwt.
