• Dennis Specialist Vehicles has won orders for 28 Rapier fire appliance chassis. They will go into service with five fire brigades over the next few months.
Rapiers are already used by fire brigades in Northern Ireland, Derbyshire and Hereford & Worcester.
Kent Fire Brigade, which took the first Rapier at the end of last year, plans to put its John Dennis Coachbuilder-bodied version into operation within the next two weeks.
