blockade will snort ruefully on learning
how Salvesen Logistics is celebrating its 150th anniversary. It is launching a board game, Poursuite Routiere, in conjunction with Lincolnshire Technical Edu cation Initiative, to
brighten up French studies in UK schools. The game has been distributed to education authorities close to Salvesen depots. "To play the game," explains Salvesen, "pupils must take responsibility for a vehicle as it progresses from the UK to a specified location in France. Each group must complete tasks in French such as route planning, passing through customs and listening to weather forecasts." Sensible stuff, no doubt, but where are the blockades, lorry burnings and rioting farmers barbecuing British lamb by the roadside that add spice to such journeys?
