ALDERMAN ALBERT HAYES, deputychairman of Leeds Passenger Transport Committee, has been nominated for election as Lord Mayor of Leeds in November next.
MISS MARJORIE TOWNSON, woman personnel supervisor of Leeds Transport Department, has been appointed woman welfare supervisor to' Liverpool Transport Department. She holds the diploma of Public Administration (Leeds University), MR. RAYMOND W. BIRCH, who is well known in connection with the British Omnibus Companies Public Relations Committee, has been elected chairman of the Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., in place of MR. SroerEv GARCKE, who has resigned. MR. R. P. BEnnow has been appointed a director of the Potteries Company, which is a sub sidiary of the British Electric Traction Co., Ltd., .Ma. R. J. HOWLEY being the chairman of this company.
MR. J. S. WILLS, al.Inst.T., an executive director of the British Electric Traction Co., Ltd., has been elected to the Boards of the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., and Omnibus Stations, Ltd., in the place of Mr. P. R. Blake, who has resigned. He has also joined the Boards of the South Wales Transport Co., Ltd., and Swansea Improvements and Tramways Co.
MESSRS. W. G-. WIDNALL and A. A. HART are acting as joint honorary secretaries of the Industrial Transport Association. The headquarters offices. will shartly be returned to an address in Central London, but meanwhile all correspondence should be addressed to the first-named at 23, Waldegrave Gardens, Upminster, Essex.
