• A west London man who was disqualified from driving last year has just been granted provisional entitlement to drive HGVs.
Records showed he had been disqualified in 1997 following a series of traffic offences. But evidence produced by the driver proved the offences had taken place in early 1995. The twoyear delay in his disqualification was caused by paperwork being lost within the court system and was not his fault, the hearing was told.
Granting the provisional licence, South Eastern & Metropolitan Traffic Commissioner Brigadier Michael Turner said he should take account of the fact that the driver had not offended since 1995, and this indicated he had learnt his lesson. 0 Only eight out of 24 previously disquali
