WELSH OPERATOR Teifi Timber has placed the first UK order for one of Volvo's latest 13litre FH trucks The FH has a D13A engine, which is lighter than its D12D predecessor but more powerful, According to Volvo. the stroke has been increased to give a bigger capacity and more torque. Benefits are said to include faster acceleration, fewer gear changes. improved fuel consumption and a higher average speed.
The FH will be used to haul Teifi Timber's home-grown timber and pallets from its base in Carrnarthenshire.
