• Global Truck Equipment has opened a 900m2 extension at its Newark Road, Peterborough base. The £250,000 investment is the first step in a development programme due to culminate next summer in an adjacent £1.5m, 12-acre site.
Between them, the two plants will raise output from eight to 15 bodies a week. This includes trailer output, which is due to rise from two to three a week.
Global is also negotiating with two truck manufacturers over setting up a truck dealership at the new site.
Global specialises in refrigerated bodywork, but also builds exhibition and hospitality units. This activity has been boosted by its acquisition of exhibition/hospitality trailer maker, Club Car.
