• Ford will launch its own range of alternative-fuel commercial vehicles in 1999. but the company has yet to decide which fuel to support.
According to CV brand manager Mike Platts, Ford is "fuelneutral" at the moment. It has 27 LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and CNG (compressed natural gas) Transit vans on trial with the Post Office, and has plans to build up a fleet of 50 gas-powered Transit and Monde° demonstration vehicles by the end of next year.
