IT'S GREAT TO SEE another attempt to raise the awareness of the vital nature of trucks with your campaign 'Without trucks the UK can't deliver'.
It echoes the great York Trailers campaign of the mid '70s, 'If you've got it, a truck brought it', when Fred Davies, one of the most passionate advocates of the importance of the trucking industry, succeeded in raising the general public's awareness of the importance of our industry — a campaign that If was personally proud to be involved with.
Don't just let this rest with a free sticker in C/14's sister title Truck & Driver.
The industry should adopt the new slogan and use it wherever it can find an opportunity: in its advertising, on its correspondence and publicity material.
If it becomes a battlecry for the industry, much more awareness could be achieved right through to Joe Public.
So good luck to you. What can be done to get others to play their part in what could be the start of something big?
