Purshall's vote goes to TV chef and former footballer Gordon Ramsay.
Known for his fiery temper and predilection for expletives, the hot-headed gastronome has a well-deserved reputation for not suffering fools gladly and being able to focus on the small details that can have a big impact.
"I'd vote for Ramsay because of his forthright opinion and attitude," says Purshall, "He would put a bit of life back into the department and that's what's needed, although he might have to tone down the language a bit.
"He should start by negotiating the decoupling of fuel duty and then move on to the issue of relaxation of cabotage.
"With Ramsay on the job I think roads would get a fairer deal and things would get done. It would make up for the high turnover of people who have been in the job in recent years."
