DIAL-A-RIDE bus services are now available to residents of Weston and Dunsyre in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The Government sponsored service, called RUTEX H, consists of a new 17-seater minibus — the Medwun Gypsy — a new Biggar-Quothquan Lanark postbus and the existing Biggar-Carnwath postbus. Aim of RUTEX H is to provide a study of a whole range of unconventional rural transport ideas to form the basis of advice to people organising transport in their own areas. Other experiments will start later in the year in South Ayrshire and will include a hospital transport service and one using shared cars.
