• Long-standing Warrington haulage company Phillip Priestner is selling 80 of its 96strong fleet and cutting its workforce from 24 to six.
Owner Phillip Priestner says that "after 41 years I reckon I've had about enough of this business". He intends to keep only a few existing contracts which he will service with his remaining fleet of tankers and lowloaders. Priestner describes the drivers and fitters who have been made redundant as "first class people, and people like that find jobs even when times are hard".
