AN INTERNATIONAL transport firm has taken steps to have notorious freight forwarding fraudster Jeff Lewis declared bankrupt.
Five years ago Lewis was jailed for three and a half years for cheating operators out of tens of thousands of pounds. He was called to appear before the high court in London on 17 August in proceedings brought against him by WA Humphreys International which distributes to the Belgian textiles industry.
The hearing was adjourned but is expected to resume within the next few days. Lewis ran a string of freigh forwarding firms with his son Michael, and pulled the plug (It each company as he was chase( for cash.
