A 29-VEHICLE business has been rk bought by N.M.U. (1954), Ltd., whose shares are now held by Contract (Motor Hire), Ltd., York. N.M.U. already have a fleet of 272 ex-B.R.S. vehicles.
Mr. S. Sykes, Bell Lane, Ackworth, near Pontefract, has made a repeat purchase, this Time of 14 vehicles, and has sold the following: One vehicle to E. G. Smith, Ltd., 185 Cross Flans Grove, Leeds, 11; one to Mr. T. Smith, 149 Trap Lane, Sheffield; one to Ackworth Transport Co., Ltd., Central Garage, South Elmsa11; one to G. Earnshaw, Ltd., Blaxton, near Doncaster; two to Mr. G. B. Hindle, Nelson Street, Bradford; one to Mr. J. J. Shepherd, Church Street, Oughtibridge, near Sheffield; two to South Leeds Haulage Co., Ltd., • 84 Low Road, Leeds, 10; one to A. Binns, Ltd., Dewsbury Road, Ossett; one articulated vehicle to Mr. I. Goby (Humber Carting Agency), 29a Lee Street. Hull;. one articulated vehicle to Messrs. F. and H. Tinker, Thorpe Lane, Tingley, near Wakefield; and two vehielis to NoW and LiI1CS Transport Co., Colwick Road, Nottingham.

N.C.R.T.C.H. SCOTTISH BRANCH?
i‘ FORMATION committee has been 171 set up by the National Conference of Road Transport Clearing Houses to explore the possibilities of establishing a Scottish area 'organization. This follows a meeting held in Glasgow last week of members of the clearing-house and haulier sections, which was attended -by Mr. Boyd Bowman, national secretary.
Mr. C. M. Anderson was appointed convener of the committee. Other members are Mr. E. R. Marshall and Mr. W. Cowan.
