TĀ°give increased traction to single-drive multiwheelers, ERF Ltd. now offers a means of applying more load to the driving axle of these vehicles. Firestone Airide air bellows are fitted between the aide and the frame and by applying a pressure of 80 p.s.i. to them a total of 4 tons is applied to the driving axle.
At present the system is offered only on ERF models having the Hendrickson steel-sprung rear suspension. The bellows are fed from an independent air-pressure reservoir.
This photograph shows one of the Firestone Airide bellows in the new ERF system which can give an extra 4 tons of load on the driving axle of single-drive sixand eight
