NTOT without a pang of regret did this journal -+-1 record last week the news that the second preliminary Meeting of delegates of lade e . ndent passenger-vehicle operators, convened y that energetic body, the Motor Hirers' and Coach Services Association, had closed without definitely bringing into existence a National Advisory Council of Public-service Vehicle Owners' Associations. The postponement . can but be of brief duration, for the provincial associations have shown that they reallie the need for centralizing the work they are doing, and, Indeed, but for circumstances which were ā€˛found to stand temporarily in the way of one or two of the bodies, the national council would by now have been constituted.
Nevertheless protrastination at the present time is a serious matter. The. associations throughout the country . must be brought ' together, to present a united front to the difficulties that face them. The sooner another representative 'meeting of delegates can be convened, and the national council formed, the better it will be for all.
