ATTRACTIVE as is road travel try coach, without any embellishment, the addition of radio makes a world of difference on a long journey. Coach operators are, of course, realizing this and hence the number of radio coaches 'increases month by month.
. So advanced are present-day coach radio receivers that there is no question of having to be content with a "local " station, They are just as selective and provide a degree of volume equal to, if not better than, many home receivers.
One of the best-known names in this particular application of radip is undoubtedly that of Philco, for which sets Delco-Remy and Hyatt, Ltd., 111, • Grosvenor Road, London, S.W.1, the well-known manufacturer of electrical equipment is responsible.
The Philco models suited to installa. tion in a coach are those designated L728-TC and L728-SC, the first being for operation off 12-volt circuits and the second for 6-volt equipment. Both these models are designed for use with a separate loud sneaker, thus the speakGr may be located at any point in the vehicle. The power is such that provision is made for an additional speaker should such be required.
Control is by the Philco two-knob unit, with an additional tone control in the set itself.
