• Defence equipment manufacturer Alvis has bought Watford based specialist vehicle manufacturer Unipower. The company's £30 million order book includes military vehicle contracts for the British Army and Royal Army of Oman.
The company also produces airfield emergency chassis, dumptrucks and heavy haulage prime movers. More than 70% of recent deliveries have been exported.
