Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• SDC Trailers has bought Neville Charrold from Lycett Industries. The move combines Toomebridge, Antrim trailer builder SCD with the Mansfield manufacturer which is best known for its aluminium tippers. Neville Charrold dates back 100 years when George Neville & Son developed a heavy CV business. In 1973 it passed to fuel merchants Charringtons, then via Coalite, Bunzl (in 1986) and York Trailers before being acquired by Lycett. But the company never sat easily within Lycett's core activities. NC's managing director David Stanley says the sale "allows us to concentrate more on our customer requirements rather than investor interests."

SDC has an £18m turnover and more than 150 employees. The acquisition gives it a UK base but NC, with a workforce of 30 and turnover target of £3.5m, will remain a standalone business.
