The position is that•under the Emergency Powers (Defence) Road Vehicles and Drivers (Amendment) Order, 1940, and until further notice, holders of ordinary driving licences (full or provisional) covering vehicles in Group I (heavy and light locomotives, tractors, heavy motorcars, etc.) or of National Service driving licences applying to vehicles of all descriptions, who are over 21 years of age, may drive heavy goods vehicles without having a special licence or permit.
