T.D.G. Offer Recommended. The board of Cargo Distributors Ltd., Of Melbourne, is recommending acceptance of the £3 m. bid by the Transport Development Group for the Australian company (The Commercial Motor, January 10). It is understood that the recommendation is being made with a proviso that T.D.G.'s financial stability and profits for the year ending December 31 last were not adversely affected.
Clearing Houses Dates: Professor Colin Buchanan will be principal guest at the annual luncheon of the National Conference of Road Transport Clearing Houses at the Park Lane Hotel, London, on Tuesday, March 17. The president, Mr. Peter Walker, M.P., will take the chair. The annual general meeting of the Conference will be held al the Park Lane Hotel on the same day at 10.30 a.m.; the annual dinner and dance will be at the PiccadillyHotel, London. on Saturday. November 21. York at Amsterdam : The York Trailer Co. Ltd. is to exhibit two Freightmaster van semi-trailers, one Teamster platform semitrailer and a trailing-axle assembly with Air Load Transfer equipment at the forthcoming Amsterdam Motor Show. The company is also planning to take a party of 75 York operators and dealers from England to see the Show : a jet aircraft is to be chartered, and the party will stay in Amsterdam from February 7 to 9.
Price Rise: Always Welding Ltd. announces that all prices will be increased by 5 per cent from February 1. Existing orders dispatched after January 31 will be invoiced at the old price plus 5 per cent, with the exception of any tipping gear involved.
Ten-vehicle A Grant: The Eastern LA., Mr. W. P. S. Ormond, in a reserved decision. has granted a 10-vehicle A licence to G. W. Peacock, of Biggleswade, on the surrender of 16 vehicles currently operating on A. Contract A and B licences.
