A SIGNIFICANT drop in the number of lorry thefts in the London area last year is reported by the vehicle security committee of the Road Haulage Association. The vehicle observer corps in the Metropolitan police district was called out on only '186 occasions in 1974 compared with 224 in 1973 and 299 in 1972.
