Features of Bus Working in Buenos Aires and Adjacent Districts.
AT the 44th ordinary general meeting of the Anglo-Argentine Tramways Co., Ltd,, which was recently held under the chairmanship of Sir George A. Touche, Bt., reference was made to the intensity of competition which the company has to face from independent motorbus undertakings in Buenos Aires. Although the new routes inaugurated by these enterprises have been outnumbered by those which have been suspended, some 500 buses remain in service in the city, and it is estimated that in 1927 they carried 162,000,000 passengers, 55.000,000 of when), it is said, would otherwise probably have been transported by the company's tramcars.
