• Olau Line's twice-daily fen-y service between Sheerness and Vlissingen resumed this week after being hit by strike action, but both of Olau's ships will be withdrawn from the route in the second half of May.
The crews are to be made redundant and the ships will be chartered or sold.
Olau says operating under German pay scales is "no longer possible in the competitive cross-Channel market".
