Truck operators and owner-drivers struggling to afford to replace rolling stock with more emission-friendly vehicles should visit the Dinex Exhausts stand at the CV Show (12-14 April), where the firm is launching a particulate trap and a range of Euro-4 aftermarket products.
Cheshire-based Dinex is unveiling the Dinex Regenerating Trap (DRT), an alternative to Eminox’s Continuously Regenerating Trap (CRT), a product whose patent expired in April 2009, thus opening up the market.
General manager Rogier van der Ouderaa says the DRT is available as a cordierite and as a silicon carbide ceramic filter. The latter is geared-up for inner-city driving at low speeds, which generates less heat from the engine.
Dinex will also launch a Euro-4 aftermarket range for exhaust systems, which includes pipes, filters, and SCR filter units for Renault and Volvo trucks. This provides a cheaper solution for operators to make Euro-3 trucks viable for the second phase of London’s Low Emission Zone (LLEZ) laws, due to come in on 3 January 2012.
Van der Ouderaa says the light-CV range of exhaust systems for 2-tonne to 7-tonne CVs will be an important market for the company as van operators are included as part of the LLEZ for the first time.
