Barnfield College in Luton has snapped up two used Renaults direct from the manufacturer to help train the next wave of HGV mechanics.
CO-LEGE MIGHT seem an unusual destination for a secondhand truck, but the acquisition of two Renaults should help meet the current demand for budding HGV mechanics.

-They [the vehicles] will be used for practical training which is part of the courses we offer, as reinforcement of the theory lessons," Rolt adds.
The three-year course leads to City and Guilds levels 2 and 3.This can form part of an apprenticeship programme which will also include the relevant NVC) in the workplace.
There are over 100 full-time students on the course, and numbers are expected to rise. Rolf reports: "We're investigating the possibility of residential block-release courses from next September."•
