Volvo Trucks has set up a dedicated site in Coventry to house and market its part-exchange lorries, its online auction stock and export vehicles
Words: Kevin Swallow
VOLVO TRUCKS has opened a dedicated trade and export centre in Coventry for its part-exchange vehicles, trade-only stock available through its online auction site and trucks heading overseas.
Used truck director Peter Groome (pictured) says the firm has to be stronger on trade-ins on both Volvo and nonVolvo products, and the manufacturer has been actively buying all-branded stock in the open market.
“This site helps provide support for our trade and export business as well as the trade-only online auction (www. hgvbay.com),” he adds.
The 2.5-acre facility is located on the Torrington Avenue Industrial Estate, has a two-lane workshop, four employees, and will have all brands of trucks.
“This is the first time we’ve had a dedicated site and we have room for future expansion here. We’ve got showroom, offices and workshop facilities in one place now, which makes it easier for customers to do business with us,” he says. ■
