Portsmouth is constructing two new roads, one in front of the Artillery Barracks, costing £50,000, and the other from Portebridge to Paulsgreve, upon which 243900 is to be spent.
At Rotherham the Sheffield Road is being widened, at -an estimated cost of £42,554, and £42,584 is being spent on
the construction of a section of new road to Sheffield. Sunderland is expending about. £45,000. en widening. Ryhope Road and Durham Road.
Swansea has two widening schemes, one in Mumbles Road, costing £46,323. Coventry is building a new road through the local housing site for £32.500.
The Somerset. County Council is spending £20,000 on the Bridgwater-, Mffiehead Road and £54,212 on widening tee Bristol-Weston-super-Mare Road.
In Kent the county council is widening the Rochester-Mailing Road at a cost of £40,000, and the London-Dover Road at Newington, at a cost of £10,000.
At Eastbourne the widening -of the Eastbourne-Seaford Road will cost £41,34e.
The expenditure on the widening of the London-Brighton Road between Crawley and Briehton will be very. little short of £100,000.
