A CALL for a complete overhaul of of EEC transport regulations was made by members cif the council of the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport at a meeting With the Minister for Transport, Dr John Gilbert, on Tuesday. The council are convinced that the continued deferment of the application of Regulation 543/69, due for January 1, 1976, is merely confusing the situation—and the radical revision of the regulations is necessary before they can be applied in this country.
The council also pressed the Minister to reach an early deciSion on the future of the new bus grant. They emphasised that continued investment in capital 'projects was essential. And fuel rebate—at present restricted to stage carriage services—should be available for works and express services additionally.
