IN a new move to attract staff to work in problem areas London Transport has announced a new scheme to provide home loans to its employees. Two of Britain's biggest building societies, Abbey National and Nationwide, are collaborating with LT.
The LT executive will guarantee the mortgage advance so that staff would be able to borrow larger sums than would otherwise be possible, and also special arrangements could be made to take account of future as well as present earnings.
