I can thoroughly recommend the IRTE's new recipe for an annual general meeting. Maybe the style of last week's event was because this was the 30th Institute agm, but I think they will be persuaded to make it a permanent feature. It went something like this: 6.15 Tea and biscuits; 7.00 agrn; 7.30 film show; 8.00 buffet supper—and what a spread !
For the first time ever, in my experience, the ladies were invited to the whole thing, including the meeting itself, which bucked things up no end. Crit's photographer Dick Ross was on hand to record the presentation of awards and the certificates to new Fellows, who include retiring president Earl Howe, so I'll let the pictures tell that particular story.
