Tensioners made from a rubber-based compound and designed for securing tilts and canopies on lorries and containers have been introduced by The Sherborne Rubber Co.
Rubba Guys are available in two sizes, 254mm (10in) and 165mm (6.5in) long, and consist of a flexible Shank with a loop at one end and a flat disc at the other. The loop is drawn through the eyelet of a tilt or tarpaulin until the disc is tight against the hole and then the loop is, by means of an 'S'-hook, hitched over the D'-ring on the tilt or over any suable load securing hook for an ordinary tarpaulin. The cover is then held taut by the elasticity of the !tensioners. Made by: The Sherborne Rubber Co Ltd, Sherborne Street, Ladywood, Birmingham B16 8DD.
