EXCLUSIVE • Mercedes-Benz (UK) is to contract out its entire car and commercial vehicle parts distribution operation.
The company currently runs the operation from its Milton Keynes base using 37 of its own trucks with back-up from subcontractors including TNT and Christian Salvesen.
Tenders are to be invited to take over a nationwide contract from early next year. The move
is part of a rationalisation plan which will include shedding 100 jobs from M-B's 900-strong head office workshop in the next nine months (CM 17-23 Oct).
M-B has 175 CV and car dealers in the UK.
