London cently taken over by Charthire (CM, May 21), has opened its fo London depot.
The site, at Six Bridges Trading Estate, South-East London, was previously owned by Avis and is fitted out with a large maintenance area capable of handling around 10 small capacity lorries at one time.
Through Cooper London, Charthire now has a nationwide coverage and a total of 11 depots. Its fleet of 1,000 vehicles comprises nearly 350 vehicles of Cooper London, mainly employed on newspaper delivery work in and around London.
Charthire's move to the Sc of England is to find new r kets and expand its workfc Fred Holder, managing dire of Cooper London, said at opening of the depot: "The n reason for acquiring the new pot is for expansion and exactly what we plan to do."
Mr Holder retires at the en September and will be replE by Geoff Homer, currentl. director with Charthire.
