Tam sure that I will not be alone in expressing disbelief at the insult which Professor David Rose has levelled at professional truck drivers by putting them in the same class as traffic wardens (CM 17-23 September).
Has he stopped to think of the wide-ranging skills required to be a professional driver?
Many drivers have also got to be public relations experts, forward planners, negotiators, clerks, mechanics and navigators, all rolled into one.
Are we really supposed to take Professor Rose seriously? Should the Government be wasting public money on this sort of pointless research?
I wonder which class the learned professor would put himself in? I should think most drivers would have strong views on the subject...
