• Yorkshire Water was transporting water on the roads again this week, just months after closing its water tankering relief operation.
However, this operation was slightly different—the water being transported was bottled. Three artics carried hundreds of pallets of two-litre bottles of water from Calderdale Council's Batterson Road depot to Chellow Heights water treatment works, Bradford.
The water was moved because Yorkshire Water didn't want to pay high storage costs at the council deport. The bottles were intended for emergency use during the droughts.
