FORD is the latest manufacturer to have its name added to the list of sponsors of this year's European Transport Maintenance Council, the second event of its kind, which will be held in Barcelona, November 5 to 7.
The main objective of the ETMC, which follows the pattern of the well established American Truck Maintenance Councils, is to "build bridges of communication between operator and manufacturer," according to Roger Denniss of Bass, the Council's European chairman. Among this year's sponsors are Bedford, Cummins, Daf, Eaton, Enasa, lveco, Saab-Scania and Volvo, The conference programme includes sessions on EEC road transport objectives and how they will affect vehicle specification and maintenance; new component developments; new road/rail developments; and trends in fuels and lubricants.
Admission to the conference is free and ETMC has arranged concessionary rates for delegates using hotels in Barcelona.
Specific operator-to-manufacturer questions will be presented in writing on the first day of the conference.
Further information is available from the ETMC central office at Jan Van Rijswijcklaan 166A, Appt 4, 5-2020 Antwerp, Belgiurn.
