By Chris Tindall THE SOLE director of Derbyshire haulier Sisson & French, Thomas Armstrong, has suspended a proposal by the registrar that the irm be struck off.
A document iled at Companies House says an objection to the action to dissolve the business has been received, and therefore the strike off has been suspended.
Sisson & French has been beset by problems since the strike off proposal was lodged at Companies House (CM 11 August). The North West Trafic Area ofice conirmed that the irm’s licence for nine vehicles and 21 trailers was revoked and that creditor GB Oils, trading as Bates and Hunt, has presented a petition in the courts to wind up the company.
One reason for the registrar attempting to strike off a business is that it has failed to ile its annual accounts, and Companies House currently states Sisson & French’s accounts are overdue.
A spokesman for the Insolvency Service says the striking off can be suspended where an oficer with the irm has lodged an objection to the company being struck off the register: “Usually, this would be because they feel they are in a position to address whatever the cause is for the proposed striking off.” Armstrong conirms he objected to the registrar’s proposal and adds: “I do not wish to comment, we are trading on as normal.”
