of England will be bidding for extra work following a decision from Coca-Cola & Schweppes Beverages to cut its distribution depots from 12 to six.
Managers at the four main regional sites at East Kilbride, Wakefield, Northampton and Sidcup, and the two smaller depots at Bristol and Enfield, will decide on the size of the haulier needed to handle the work.
Coca-Cola & Schweppes already uses third-party hauliers: it has just signed a six-month, £250,000 contract with the Lane Group to deliver 250 pallets a week to outlets in Hereford, Wales, Avon and Gloucestershire from Bristol.
