tyre wear, Banks of Sandy has included self-steering axles on four tri-SAF-axled stepframe grain carriers built by Wisbech Bulk Systems.
The axles have an unusual damping system designed to minimise wheel flutter and enhance tyre life. The latest 42m3 aluminiumbodied semi-trailers tip using Edbro hydraulics and tare out at 6,300kg.
The 40-tonne design-rated bulkers have two-axle anti-lock braking, aluminium wheels, Grunevald auto-lube and a PM Electronics on-board weighing system.
