CV or CV Operator Shows in 2009 and 2010 wasn't taken lightly, but the van-makers will be out in force at the CV Operator Show, reveals SMMT CEO Paul Everitt.
"We shouldn't underestimate how successful the CV Show is," he says. "It is the show that the manufacturers must appear at. There is, however, a recognition that it is now a more competitive market and resources are limited. As international companies, and this means they cannot do all of the shows in Europe."
With most truck manufacturers now owned by major continental European conglomerates, it is inevitable their first loyalty will be to the Dutch RAI and German Hannover shows, both of which are expected to take place in 2010, However, foltowing a successful CV Operator Show, the truck manufacturers are expected to return for a 2011 UK CV Show.
"By 2011 we should see economic growth in the UK picking up, and there is likely to be an upswing in demand from the larger fleets," predicts Everitt.
