IF THERE'S SI ILL a recession on at the moment, it can't be affecting the main manufacturers and the insurance firms.
For example, I've been waiting nearly a month now for a major tyre company representative to arrange a meeting. I get given a different excuse each time I phone up.
Similarly, a major commercial vehicle insurance broker tells me every time I call up that he has the paperwork in front of him, but needs to email me some questions. This has now been going on for three weeks.
As for truck manufacturers. I recently phoned and asked for a quote on one vehicle. I was lucky because, after about six calls, I got a quote, but that was it, no other contact.
After complaining to their head office. all I got was -we will ask the dealer to contact you" and. yet again, nothing.
I regularly deal with a family firm who have a few dealerships. but the nearest one is 300 miles away. 1 keep getting asked why? The reason is simple. Any quotes are attended to promptly and you always get a follow-up call.
