USED TRUCK DEALERS nationwide were hit hard by the had winter weather earlier in the year.
"The phones stopped ringing and business ground to a halt." reveals Lee Smith of Essex-based Hanbury Riverside. "Thanks to the ice and snow, our trading year didn't start until the third week of January."
"The weather hit us hard," agrees Jamie McDonald of RIM Commercials in Norfolk. "Sales ceased almost entirely, and we couldn't even wash down the vehicles in the yard.
"That said, we did have one or two operators struggle over to see us one because the port he was heading to was shut as a result of the weather, and he was on his back way home. In the end, we did manage to sell a couple of Scanias.
