Francis Transport (Northwich) suffered damage to one truck on the M6, one northbound on the Al , one in Barnsley and one at St Helen's. Two of them were empty, the others were cubed out with light goods in high-volume trailers A company spokesman says. "We haven't lost a truck like this in 20 years and then we have four in two hours. We instantly parked up all the other vehicles" The company was shocked to see that the E105 recovery charge from the police was a tiny part of the final bill, which included labour costs and safety officers. The final bill for one truck alone was £2,800.
The company is fully insured, and expects the, trucks to be written off, The spokesman adds'. 'One was hit by a brick wall and they were all badly damaged."
The drivers all escaped unhurt.
