jN areas where British Railways have I withdrawn their facilities they should not be granted opportunity to object to the licensing applications of road hauliers this view has been put forward by the Blairgowrie branch of the Scottish NFU. The Perth area executive of the union has approved a resolution to this effect which is being forwarded to NFU headquarters.
The area vice-chairman said recently that in a local case where a haulier had applied for an extension of his licence the chief objector was British Railways, which had withdrawn all its goods services from the particular area.
